According to present plans school will open on Sept. 16th.

John Reine went to Reedsburg Tuesday on business.

Rev. Colman went to Portage Tuesday to attend conference.

Miss Emma Knoop went to Marshfield Tuesday to spend a few days.

Mrs. Asa Darling is here from Milwaukee for a visit with her parents.

Miss Lida Cannon went to Granton yesterday to spend a few days.

A dAughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Gus. Deutsch last week Wednesday.

Miss Jessie Wolff left for Faribault, Minn., where she will trim this season.

Judge O’Neill left yesterday to spend his vacation at his old home in New York.

Mrs. G.L. Redmond is home from Black River Falls where she has spent several weeks.

Oscar MacBride was here from St. Louis a couple days last week visiting with his father, R.J. MacBride.

Mr. and Mrs. H. Lindsley went to Menomonie Sunday to see his brother, who has been called into the service.

Mrs. Gus. Kaiser and dAughter spent Sunday at Owen. Mrs. Kaiser’s mother, Mrs. Randall, came home with them for a brief visit.

Mrs. Geo. Bandelow went to Merrillan Tuesday to meet Clyde Hanson, who came from Chippewa Falls for a visit at the Bandelow home.

Mrs. I.M. Stockwell came from Volga, S.D. Tuesday evening and returned home yesterday, taking her son, Carlos, who has been visiting his grandmother for the summer.

Mrs. Will Wood is here from Virginian City, Minn., for a weeks’ visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. N.E. Crandall. She and her mother spent yesterday afternoon at Granton.

Miss Gertrude Farning spent a week in the Granton telephone office while the operator there enjoyed a vacation. Miss Farning returned home Sunday.

Harry Randall, an employee of the O & N Lumber Co. at Owen¸ has been working in the company’s Neillsville branch a couple of weeks. Last Thursday his wife and son came down from Owen to spend a few days with him at the Gus. Kaiser home.

J.B. Adams of Clinton Junction spent a short time with Joe Butler and family this week. He was in this county looking after his farm in Sherwood. This was his first visit to the farm, which he purchased about a year ago and spoke very highly of the land in this section of the state.
