Blaskowski, John Joseph (2 May 1935 - 5 September 1973)

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon from the Georgas Funeral Home for John Joseph Blaskowski, 38, of Neillsville, who lost his life September 5 in a one-car accident on highway 73 south of the city. His death was the sixth on county roadways thus far this year. The Rev. Charles D. Brady of St. Mary’s Catholic Church officiated and burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

John Blaskowski, the son of the late John Blaskowski, Sr., and Mrs. Catherine (Kapinos) Blaskowski of rural Neillsville, was born may 2, 1935 in Chicago, Il., and was educated there. He came to Clark County in 1949. On March 7, 1958, he enlisted in the Army at the Minneapolis induction center. After serving in Korea as a Specialist 4, he was discharged from the services on December 29, 1960. His marriage to the former Shirley Severson took place March 9, 1963, in Greenwood.

Survivors, in addition to his mother and his wife, include five children, Barbara, Robert, Kenneth, Kathleen and Sandra, all at home. He is also survived by three sisters, Mrs. Andrew (Genevieve) Patulowski of Chicago, Mrs. James (Theresa) Long of Pocahontas, Il., and Mrs. Jack (Joan) Counsell of Neillsville; and by four brothers: Raymond Blaskowski of Chicago, Stanley Blaskowski of Marshfield, Theodore Blaskowski of Milwaukee and Fred Blaskowski of Granton.

Pallbearers were: William Opelt, Dean Bryan, Terry Becker, Wayne Bryan, Eugene Bryan, Butch Bryan, Bob Urban, Earl Dayton, Joe Urban, Jr., Leonard Ostrowski, Sr., Fred Brown and Don Patch.

Those from out-of-town who attended the services were: Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Patulowski and daughter, Richard Planbeck and Raymond Blaskowski, Chicago; Theodore Blaskowski, Ruth Stroude and Charles Hovert, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Stan Blaskowski, Mr. and Mrs. Duane Miller and Patricia Krall, Marshfield; Mrs. James Long, Pocahontas, Il.; Fred Blaskowski, Granton; Marlene and Don patch, Cataract; Pat and Fred Brown, Elroy; Dottie Larsen, Jada Larsen, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Trunkel and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Severson, Greenwood; Ed and Rosella Dergance and Irene, Garry and Audrey Bombach, Willard; Mr. and Mrs. Pat Severson, Spencer; and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Bryan, Humbird.
