Washburn (20 September 1973)
Mrs. Adolph Mazourek will entertain the Washburn Homemakers club Wednesday,
September 26, with dinner served at noon. The meeting was postponed from
September 12. Mrs. George Gorbet and Mrs. Walter Trachte will present the
project, ‘Is Our Food Safe?’
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Short received an announcement this week of the birth of twin
sons to Mr. and Mrs. Bob Pregont of Janesville on September 10. Mrs. Pregont is
the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Bell and granddaughter of Walter Bell, all of
Janesville. The twins weighed four pounds six ounces and three pounds three
ounces and were named Michael Andrew and Matthew Robert. Mr. and Mrs. Pregont
have a daughter, Stacey.
Mr. and Mrs. Albert (Jim) Kapfer of West Bend returned home Thursday from
several weeks’ trip to Seattle, Wa., where they visited relatives and attended
the golden wedding anniversary of their cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Irving Stead. They
called on his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Kapfer; her mother,
Mrs. William Poler at Memorial Home; and her brothers-in-law and sisters, Mr.
and Mrs. George Sherwood and Mrs. Oliver Williams. They were Thursday overnight
guests of his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Kapfer. They
returned home Friday. They visited many places of interest on the trip. Her
sister, Mrs. Leo Mathews of Lake Geneva accompanied them on the trip, but
returned home by plane, being called home by the illness of her daughter. Mr.
and Mrs. Ted Schultz of Waterford were Wednesday dinner guests of her brother
and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Reinart. Mr. and Mrs. Schultz and his
brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Hallie Schultz of Omro, were called here
Monday due the serious illness of their father, Paul Schultz, at Memorial Home.
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Kalsow and son, Wayne, Mr. and Mrs. John Reinart and sons,
Wayne and Lee, daughter, Judy, and Kent Lonning, were Friday night visitors at
the Dale Reinart home. They helped Mrs. Reinart celebrate her birthday.
Mr. and Mrs. William Feutz of Randolph, and Gertrude Feutz of Monroe, spent
Thursday with the former’s sister-in-law, Mrs. Chris Feutz.
Mrs. Elmer Kapfer attended the funeral of Joyce Paulson Monday evening and
visited several friends at memorial home after the funeral.
Mrs. Merle Austin and son, David called Saturday at the Mrs. Art Odell home.
Mrs. Ethel Henne and granddaughter, Mrs. Kenneth Neil, of Lake Geneva, and Mrs.
Jeanine Voight and daughter, Mary Ellen, of Elkhorn, spent a few days last week
at the Oliver Williams home. They also visited Mrs. William Poler at Memorial
Home and Mr. and Mrs. George Sherwood.
