Blang, Hattie (Trader) (28 September 1879 - 5 August 1973)

Funeral services were held August 7 from Mueller Funeral Home and from St. Joseph’s Church, Grafton, for Mrs. Hattie Trader Blang, a former Humbird resident who died August 5 at Heritage Nursing Home, Port Washington. The Rev. C. Alberte officiated and burial was made in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

Mrs. Blang was born September 28, 1879, at Rose, Germany, and came to the United States with her parents as a young girl. She lived in the Town of Mentor until November 21, 1898, when she was married to John Blang. The couple lived in and near Humbird for many years. Mr. Blang died February 5, 1957, and from that time Mrs. Blang made her home with a daughter, Margaret, at Grafton. A member of the Christian Mothers and of the Auxiliary of the Legion of Mary, she spent the past three years at Heritage Home.

Surviving are three children: Mrs. John (Margaret) Becker of Grafton, Mack Blang of Osseo, Mn, and Mrs. Jack (Agnes) Hughes of Milwaukee; and six grandchildren. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Among those who attended their aunt’s funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Willard Putman of Humbird, Mr. and Mrs. Art Putman of Cadott and Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Gessner of Chippewa Falls.
