Zion Lutheran Church, Granton (90th Anniversary -1973)
Special services Sunday, September 23, will mark the 90th anniversary of the
Zion Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod, congregation at Granton. The Rev. Arthur
H. Leasch, Pewaukee, will be the guest speaker at the 10:30 a.m. worship
service, which will be followed by a potluck congregational dinner. The Rev.
Roland Roehrs is the pastor of the congregation.
Rev. Leasch, now retired, is a former pastor of the church. He will also deliver
the Sunday morning sermon at Christ Lutheran Church, Chili.
Everyone knows Rev. Leasch and would like to rejoice with the congregation in
the blessings of the past 90 years is invited to attend the observance.
The congregation was organized in 1883 and the present church was built in 1958.
The church has recently been carpeted; funds came from memorials and from the
Ladies Aid rug fund.
Congregational histories are expected to be ready for distribution to member of
the congregation Sunday. A pictorial directory is being prepared.
