Granton (20 September 1973)
Mrs. Grace Paulson, who was a houseguest of Mrs. William Schmidtke for
approximately a month, left last Wednesday to return to her home in Walla Walla,
Wa. She was accompanied by her brother, Lester Chapman. They arrived in Walla
Walla Friday evening.
The bake sale and food stand sponsored Saturday by the women of the United
Methodist Church was very successful.
The York Center Community club was to meet Wednesday at the Milford Rowe home
for a noon dinner.
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Strey and family of Owen were weekend guests of her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Bender.
Weekend guests of Mrs. Lloyd Spry were her daughters and sons-in-law, Mr. and
Mrs. Gehrman Radke of Milwaukee and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Anderson and sons,
Eric, Evan and Edward, of Wild Rose.
Mrs. Floyd Pietenpol spent the weekend in Neillsville with her daughter and
son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Downer.
Weekend guests at the Van L. Kayser home were their son and daughter-in-law, Mr.
and Mrs. Allan Kayser of Waterloo, the Allan Kaysers’ son and his wife, Mr. and
Mrs. Jeff Kayser of Sun Prairie and a friend, Ken Yerges, of Horicon. Sunday
morning, the Van Kaysers’ daughter and granddaughter, Mrs. Shirley Freeberg and
Karen of Eau Claire, joined the family group. The occasion for the gathering was
the birthdays of Mr. and Mrs. Van Kayser.
Margo Ganther of Cambridge, Mn, spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Clarence Ganther.
The annual pie and ice cream social sponsored by the men of the York Center
Methodist Church will be held this (Thursday) evening at the York town hall.
Other food items and beverages will also be served.
Weekend guests of mrs. Elda Bartz were Mr. and Mrs. Ed Dau of New Lennox, Il.
Mr. and Mrs. Neal Fero and family of Milwaukee spent the weekend with his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Fero, and attended the Fall Festival activities.
Brian Fero, a successful bow and deer hunter for the second consecutive year,
bagged a deer Saturday in the town of Washburn.
