Daenicke, Martin H. (26 SEP 1900 – 5 OCT 1967)
Funeral services for Martin H. Daenicke, 67, of Abbotsford, who died Thursday,
Oct. 5, 1967, were held Monday afternoon. Mr. Daenicke's unexpected death
occurred at 4:30 p.m. at the All Metal Stamping and Manufacturing, where he was
employed. He had been in ill health for some time, and was recently
hospitalized.
The Rev. F.H. Sprengler conducted services at 2 o'clock at Christ Lutheran
Church. The body was taken there at noon Monday, from the Polnaszek Funeral
Home, where it lay in state from Saturday evening. Ronald Buss was the organist
for the services and accompanist for Mrs. James Daellenbach and Mrs. Myron
Greaser, who sang "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" and "Abide With Me."
The pallbearers for the interment, which was made in the Abbotsford Cemetery
were Dan Gehrke, Jerry Kollath, Hilarion Michlig, Donald Ortlieb, Stanley Zuber
and Walter Zuber.
Mr. Daenicke was born Sept. 26, 1900, in the town of Mayville, Clark County,
Wis., and received his education there. His marriage to Laura Heida took place
Oct. 1, 1925, at Colby.
After their marriage, the couple farmed for 10 years in the town of Mayville,
and then moved to the city of Abbotsford.
Mr. Daenicke was a member of Christ Lutheran Church at Abbotsford.
In addition to his wife, survivors are a son, Donald, Tomahawk; three daughters,
Mrs. Ray (Elaine) Johnson, Tomahawk, Mrs. David (Beverly) Michlig, Abbotsford,
and Mrs. Donald (Shirley) Marcott, Dorchester; four sisters, Mrs. Ervin Behrend
of Oregon City, Ore., Mrs. Leo Wachsmuth, Chicago, Mrs. Louise Ploof, Oak
Forest, Ill., and Mrs. Roy Houderscheldt, Minneapolis, and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.
Relatives from away who attended the funeral came from Minneapolis, Milwaukee,
Stevens Point and Tomahawk.
