Schmitz, Roberta (Marriage - 1973)
Mr. and Mrs. Michael Kurz, who were married by the Rev. Frank Troyler of the
Church of Christ, Taft, Ca, are at home at 506 S. Roosevelt, Green Bay, where
the groom attends the University of Wisconsin. The newlyweds honeymooned from
California to Spencer, and were honored with a wedding dance and coin shower
held at the Sherman Town hall.
The bride, the former Miss Roberta Schmitz, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Russell Schmitz, Taft, Ca, and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Schmitz
of Granton. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kurz, Spencer, are the groom’s parents. He is the
grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Turville of Neillsville.
An heirloom veil framed the bridal gown of Chantilly lace over nylon styled with
a train and Queen Mary sleeves. A cascade bouquet of lavender and white
carnations and mums complimented the outfit.
The couple’s attendants at the August ceremony were Miss Cheryl Maxwell,
Bakersfield, Ca, and Sam Maxwell, Nipomo, Ca. Leroy Schmitz, Granton, and Roy
Cranford, Taft, Ca, served as ushers.
A reception was held at the Moose Lodge in Taft.
The bride is a 1973 graduate of West High School, Bakersfield Ca. Her husband
graduated this year from Loyal High School.
