Lenz, Mr./Mrs. Theodore (60th – 6 NOV 1967)
Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Lenz of Abbotsford were honored at a dinner and reception
Saturday, Nov. 4, in observance of their 60th wedding anniversary.
Their children entertained about 50 close friends and relatives at a dinner
given at the Abbotsford Presbyterian Church and a reception at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Milton Lenz, Colby.
Mr. Lenz was born near Lansing, Ia., and grew up there. He and his brother did
custom threshing and also operated a sawmill.
Lillie Marti was born near Waukon, Ia.
They were married at the Marti home Nov. 6, 1907. After their marriage they made
their home in Church Town, Ia. for five years. They then moved to a farm near
Eagle Bend, Minn., where they farmed for seven years. In 1919 they moved to a
farm near Colby, where their son, Milton, still resides.
They joined the Abbotsford Presbyterian Church in 1921. Mr. Lenz served as
church elder for many years.
They retired from farming in 1949 and moved to Abbotsford.
The couple had three children, Levern, Abbotsford, and Milton, Colby. A
daughter, Mrs. Gay (Wilma) Anderson, died in 1964. They have nine living
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, all of whom were present for the
occasion.
Guests attended from Eagle Bend, Minn., Waukon, Lansing and Cedar Rapids, Ia.,
Stratford, Schofield, Superior, Eau Claire, Madison, Auburndale, Chippewa Falls,
Abbotsford, Colby and New Albin, Ia.
