Strack, Karen June (Marriage - 29 September 1973)
In a 1 p.m. ceremony performed Saturday, September 29, at Trinity Lutheran
Church in Loyal, Miss Karen June Strack became the bride of Robert Bruce Young.
The Rev. William Humlie officiated.
The bride, presented in marriage by her father, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Newell Strack of Loyal. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Young, Rt. 1 Loyal, are the groom’s
parents.
An arrangement of red roses, white carnations and lilies of the valley accented
the empire-style bridal gown of nylon organza and venise lace chosen by the
former Miss Strack. Fashioned with a bateau neckline and long, full sleeves, the
gown was framed by a cathedral-length mantilla edged in matching lace.
Miss Kathy Strack, Loyal, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Diane
Joyce, Loyal, and Miss Peg Teter, Owen. Their empire-style gowns of white dotted
Swiss with venise lace trim were complimented by large white picture hats with
red ribbons. Red and white roses and white carnations were included in their
bouquets.
The groom was attended by David Bloom of Platteville as best man and by Arnold
Behnke, River Falls, and Steve Rogstad, Beaver Dam, as groomsmen. Ushering
duties were shared by Randy Helm, Milwaukee, and Ed Haslow, Kenosha.
Mrs. Gladys Olsen was the organist. Vocalists Miss Judy Zettler, Mrs. Sharon
Schoonover and Miss Diane Anderegg were accompanied by Miss Judy Schoonover.
A reception was held at the Star Lodge Motel, Loyal.
The new Mr. and Mrs. Young are both graduates of Loyal High School and he is a
senior at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. Following a wedding trip to
southern Wisconsin, they will live at 117 S. Central Ave. in Marshfield, where
she is employed in a retail store and he is employed as a concrete finisher.
