Mrs. Gust Horn accompanied her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Horn
of Wausau, to Elmira. They visited their grandson and nephew, Mr. and Mr. Dennis
Stanke, at La Crosse.
A birthday party honoring Willard Zimmendorf was held in the Black River
Apartments. Games were played and prizes were awarded to Mrs. Charlie Hare and
Mrs. Amy Hendrickson. A potluck supper was served.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Pacholke of Hayward and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Tanko of Amherst
Junction spent a week with their sister, Mrs. Louie Vogel, and with Mr. Vogel at
Memorial home in Neillsville. John Trampush of Milwaukee also visited his uncle
and aunt, the Vogels.
Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Braun have returned after spending several weeks in Hawaii
with their son, Gary, who is stationed there with the armed services. They also
visited his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Phillips, in Fresno, Ca,
and his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Damerow, in San Francisco, Ca.
Relatives and friends were entertained at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Seibold
in celebration of his birthday. Out-of-town guests were their son-in-law and
daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Nichols, and family of Tomah, who spent a weekend
with her parents.
The Good Evening Social club held a 6:30 supper meeting at the home of Mrs.
Eugene Carteron. It was reported five birthday cakes were baked for residents of
the Clark County Home for the aged, since the last meeting. Mrs. Carteron
instructed the group in the making of ‘Bangeled Rosebuds.’ The next meeting will
be held at the home of Mrs. John Kaltinger.
Mrs. Wilbur Stewart and granddaughter, Patrice Van Keuren, attended the funeral
of the formers’ aunt, Mrs. Cordie Campbell at Viola.
Relatives and friends held a surprise birthday party in honor of Mrs. James
Metcalf at her home. The afternoon was spent playing canasta. Mrs. Grace Metcalf
of Owen was an out-of-town guest.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Stewart and grandchildren, Patrice and Jeffrey Van Keuren,
spent a weekend in Rochester, Mn, at the Everett Humke home.
The Bible Study club met at the home of Mrs. Viv Carteron.
Mr. and Mrs. Philip Vollrath attended the funeral of their sister-in-law Mrs.
Levina Cronin, recently in Minneapolis.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Cox recently went to Palatine, Il., to visit their daughter,
Mrs. Norman Kullas, and family.
Patrice and Jeffrey Van Keuren have returned to Wooster, Oh, after a visit with
their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Stewart of Greenwood, and Mr. and Mrs.
Harry Van Keuren at Glenwood City.
