Ziegler, Joanne Marie (Marriage - 29 September 1973)
Miss Joanne Marie Ziegler became the bride of Raymond Richard Petkovsek in a 1
p.m. ceremony performed Saturday, September 29, at Holy Family Catholic Church
in Willard by the Rev. Michael Mertens. A reception followed at the West Side
hall, and a 3 p.m. dinner was served at the parish center. The West Side Hall
was also the scene of a wedding dance that evening.
The couple’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Milburn Ziegler, Rt. 3 Sparta, who
presented their daughter in marriage, and Mr. and Mrs. William Petkovsek, Rt. 1
Willard.
The bride selected a gown of polyester organza over taffeta. Its embroidered
bodice was styled with a high neckline and short, puff sleeves, all edged with
self-ruffle and trimmed with venise lace and satin ribbon. The full skirt was
enhanced by ribbon beading trim and a double ruffle forming a sweep train. Her
Camelot headpiece, highlighted with tiny seed pearls, held a four-tiered English
illusion veil edged with venise lace. She carried a colonial bouquet of a
lavender orchid, stephanotis and baby’s breath.
White baskets filled with lavender daisies and white baby’s breath accented with
lavender ribbons complimented the attendants’ polyester print gowns in varied
shades of green, lavender and blue fashioned in a high neckline, with
puff-sleeved, fit and flare style. Miss Sue Nelson, Richfield, Mn, was the maid
of honor. The bride’s sister, Miss Susan Ziegler, Sparta, was her other
attendant. Flower girls were the Misses Patti and Sherri Ziegler, nieces of the
bride.
Roger Gregorich, Willard served as bestman and Wayne Johnson, Greenwood, as
groomsman. Ushers were Charles Ziegler, brother of the bride, and Dave
Petkovsek, brother of the groom.
The soloist was Miss Jenny Gruber. Mark Perkins was the guitarist.
A May graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, the new Mrs. Petkovsek
has been completing her internship in medical technology at St. Joseph’s
Hospital, Marshfield. Her husband, also a 1973 University of Wisconsin-Eau
Claire graduate, is employed as an accountant. They will lie at 5000 Sheboygan
Ave. Madison.
