Parishioners of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), and
friends of its priest, Father Hubert L. Crubel, will pay their respects to him
on Sunday on the observance of his 25th anniversary of his ordination.
A special mass will be said at 11 o'clock followed by a noon luncheon for
special guests and friends, and a reception will be held from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in
the church parlors.
Father Crubel is one of 11 priests in the La Crosse dioceses who are observing
this special occasion this month.
Father Crubel was born Aug. 18, 1912 at Petersburg, Iowa. He was ordained to the
priesthood May 12, 1940 in La Crosse.
Father Crubel received his B.A. from Loras College, Dubuque, Iowa, and his first
assignment was an assistant at Holy Trinity Parish in La Crosse, In 1944 he was
named as superintendent of the Catholic Cemetery. He became Bursar at Holy Cross
Seminary, La Crosse, in January 1952. In July of the same year he was assigned
as pastor of the Owen parish, where he has been most instrumental in its
development, having supervised the building of the present day buildings, and in
getting the parochial school program under way.
