Kozik, Leon P. (8 JUL 1926 – 19 MAR 2015)
Leon P. Kozik, 88, Chili, died on Thursday evening, March 19, 2015, at Ministry
Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield. Per his request, no services will be
held.
Leon was born on July 8, 1926, in Loyal, to Peter and Emma (nee Reynolds) Kozik.
He attended school in Loyal. He served in World War II and was honorably
discharged. He married Hazel I. Montgomery on July 9, 1947, in Marshfield. He
returned to Loyal after his military duty and he worked on the home farm. Leon
later was employed at W.J. Spry Elevators & Son in Chili. He played drums in the
Moonlite Valley Playboys Band for more than 25 years. Along with his music, he
enjoyed fishing and hunting in Wyoming with his friends and family.
Leon is survived by his wife, Hazel; their children, Judy (Paul) Beisel,
Portland, Ore., Bonnie Shannon, Medford, Conrad (Sandy) Kozik, Spencer, Sharon
(Greg) Magnuson, Neillsville, Calvin (Jola) Kozik, Chili, Corwyn (Rhonda) Kozik,
Marshfield, Ken (Joan) Kozik, Chili, and Sandra (Robert) Bauer, Marshfield; 16
grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Emma Wigman, Waunakee.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Vern
Shannon, and seven sisters.
