Little, Alveretta (15 APR 1913 – 30 MAY 1965)
Late Sunday afternoon Mrs. Arnold Little, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) passed away
at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay, where she was admitted the previous Wednesday,
being transferred from Victory Memorial Hospital at Stanley.
Mrs. Little has been ill for the past two to three years, fighting off the
effects of cancer.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 Wednesday morning at the Hoeper and Kraut
Funeral Home, with Rev. Robert Goessling of the United Church of Christ, Owen,
officiating. Burial was made at Iron Mountain, Mich.
Pallbearers were Donald Hawks, Perry Larsen, Jerry Burris, William Kangas, Roy
Segerstrom and Ed Martin.
Tuesday night at 8 o'clock The Easter Star Lodge of Owen conducted services at
the funeral home.
Mrs. Little, nee Alveretta Durham, was 52 years, 1 mont and 15 days of age,
being born in 1913 at Iron Mountain, Mich., and was married there to Arnold
Little in 1935, who preceded her in death in 1961.
In 1940 the couple came to Owen and later moved to Withee, where Mrs. Little
established the Badger Valve Rebuilding Company.
Mrs. Little was a member of the Methodist Church at Iron Mountain, Mich.; Easter
Star Lodge of Owen; White Shrine of Jerusalem at Wausau; Royal Neighbors of
America at Withee; and mom to Job's Daughters. A memorial fund has been
established.
Survivors include a son, Donald Little, Owen; a daughter, Miss Joanne Little,
Withee; her mother, Mrs. Lena Simons, Iron Mountain, Mich.; a brother, John
Durham, Iron Mountain, Mich.; a sister, Mrs. Merton Snow, Green Bay; and a
grandson, John Little.
