Peterson, Roy (25 OCT 1896 – 13 MAY 1965)
Early Thursday afternoon, May 13, 1965, Roy Peterson, 68, suffered a fatal heart
attack while at his home southeast of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.( in the town of
Green Grove.
Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon, May 17, from the Polnaszek
Funeral Home in Abbotsford by Mrs. Lillian Jensen of the Assembly of God Church.
Burial was made in the Abbotsford Cemetery.
Pallbearers included Ernest Stover, Harry Fristad, Floyd Buchanan, Wm. Erickson,
W.O. Colby and Arnold Kueng.
Mr. Peterson was born Oct. 25, 1896 at Preemption, Ill., and later came to the
Owen area, where he received his education. He worked as a garage mechanic in
the Owen-Withee area until 1927, when he moved to Abbotsford. In 1934 he
constructed his own garage, which he operated until his retirement in 1952.
His marriage to Edna Adams, who survives, took place May 8, 1929 at Minneapolis.
Other survivors include a son, Arthur, Rockford, Minn.; two daughters, Carla, at
home, and Mrs. George (Barbara) Peterson, Minneapolis, Minn.; two brothers, Swan
and Walter, Owen; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son and a brother.
