Greenwood (11 October 1973)
The American Legion Auxiliary will meet Monday, October 15, at 8 p.m. in the
Legion hall. Hostess will be Mrs. Eugene Sowieja, Mrs. Kenneth Rodgers, Mrs. Roy
Sheets and Mrs. Henry Smith.
The American Lutheran Church women will meet Thursday, October 18, at 1:30 p.m.
in the Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Hostesses will be Mrs. Louise Ellingson,
Mrs. Glen Eskildsen and Mrs. John Felix. The Naomi Circle will be in charge of
the program.
The Good Evening club will meet at the home of Miss Louise Keiner at 6:30 p.m.
Wednesday, October 17.
The Young Adults Bible study group met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jerald
Richmond Tuesday evening.
The Tuesday 500 club was entertained Tuesday afternoon and the Suffragett club
met Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Edith Stafford.
Mr. and Mrs. John Kaltinger and his mother, Mrs. John Kaltinger, Sr., returned
Saturday after spending a week in Chicago. They had gone to Chicago the week
before to attend a family reunion. Mr. Kaltinger suffered a gallbladder attack
Sunday morning and was a patient at the Memorial Hospital in Elmhurst, Il., for
five days.
Mr. and Mrs. Arleigh Olson of Blanchardville and Mr. and Mr. and Mrs. Delbert
Miller of Edgerton were Sunday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas
Erickson.
The Ladies Aid of Trinity Lutheran Church will meet Thursday, October 18, at
1:30 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Wesley Schwarze.
Mr. and Mrs. Rich Ermilio of Elmwood Park, Il., returned home Monday after
spending the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Carteron. Friday
visitors at the Carteron home were Mr. and Mrs. Henry Thwing of Clintonville
former Greenwood residents.
Dr. and Mrs. Gary Rohde and sons of River Falls spent the weekend with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stewart.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Tolaney, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Frank Brodick of Owen,
visited his brother, Anthony Tolaney, in Stevens Point, Sunday.
Weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Brux were their daughters, Monica of
Winnebago and Judith of Antigo, and his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs.
Vilas Brockman of Freedom.
Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Vesel of Port Washington spent the weekend with her mother,
Mrs. Louie Vogel, and with her father at Memorial Home in Neillsville.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Stewart spent several days at the home of her brother-in-law
and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Orv Matzke, in Wausau, and accompanied them on a trip
to Northern Wisconsin.
