Dux, Mr./Mrs. Louis ( Silver - 2 October 1973)
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Dux observed their 25th wedding anniversary Saturday, October
6, with an afternoon and evening open house at their home on Rt. 3 Neillsville,
The Duxes were married October 2, 1948, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Globe, buy
the Rev. Adolph Schumann. They are the parents of three children: Debra Ann,
Daniel and David.
Eight of the couple’s wedding attendants were present for the observance. They
were maid of honor, Mrs. Dan (Elvira) Patey of Neillsville; bridesmaids Mrs.
Clarence (Marie) Meier, Mrs. Herb (Irene) Henchen and Mrs. Gordon (Gladys) Thoma
of Neillsville and Mrs. Wilmer (Ethel) Kroll of Rothschild; flower girl Mrs.
Kurt (Arlene) Hediger of Neillsville; best man Wilmer Kroll of Rothschild; and
groomsman Henry Thoma of Neillsville. Absent were a bridesmaid Mrs. Marian
Hickiethur of Winona, Mn, and flower girl Mrs. Janine hales of Wyoming.
Among over 200 persons for the occasion were the following from out of town:
Kurt Schoenherr, Columbus; Mr. and Mrs. Robert McDonugh, Chicago, Il., Mr. and
Mrs. Clarence Huettenrauch and family and Bill Grap, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs.
Glenn Johnson, Burlington; Mr and Mrs. Clarence Hagedorn, Fond du Lac; Miss
Frances Flanagan and friend, Florida; SFC Melvin Hoffman, Hawaii; Mr. and Mrs.
Richard Schoenherr and family of Rockford, Il.; The Verland and Erwin Dux
families and Mr. and Mr. Harold Dahl, Loyal; Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Kroll, Mineral
Point.
An anniversary cake made and decorated by Mrs. Dux was cut by her sister-in-law,
Mrs. Henry Thoma. Also assisting with the serving were another sister-in-law,
Mrs. Gordon Thoma, Mrs. Dux’s sisters, Mrs. Kurt Hediger and Mrs. Dan Patey, a
cousin, Mrs. Herb Henchen and a friend, Mrs. Norman Poppe.
In the evening, Duane Peterson played concertina music for listening and
dancing. A mock wedding ceremony also provided entertainment.
