Hessing, Donald R. Sr., (1939? - 7 FEB 2015)

Donald R. Hessing Sr., 76, Huntingdon Valley, PA, died on Saturday, February 7.

Funeral services were held on Friday, February 13 at Lehman Methodist Church in Hatboro, PA. Interment was at Whitemarsh Memorial Park.

William R. May Funeral Home of Glenside, PA assisted the family with arrangements.

Donald Hessing was born in Medford to Louis and Anita Hessing. He graduated from Medford High School in 1957.

He served in the US Navy from August 1957 to 1961 during the Vietnam War. In 1964, he joined the Lower Moreland Police Force, serving 30 years until his retirement.

He was a member of Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 14 of Montgomery County, PA.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret (Steinour); three children, Donald R. Jr. (Beth Ann), Sherry (John) Cain and Sharon (Frank) Schleinkofer; two brothers, James and Thomas; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother Leon.
