Brenner, Lucy Amelia (4 September 1922 - 11 March 2015)
Lucy Amelia Brenner, 92, passed away at her home in the Town of Thorp on March
11, 2015. She was born the daughter of Hans and Justina (Wink) Jacque on
September 4, 1922, in the Town of Reseburg, Thorp, WI. Lucy was united in
marriage to Leroy Brenner, son of Andr3ew and Alma (Wieland) Brenner on June 12,
1943, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Stanley.
Lucy was a homemaker and helpmate to her husband, Leroy, as the couple raided
their family and farmed in the Town of Thorp. She was famous for her homemade
buns, her pickles, and her garden. She shared her bounty and recipes with
relatives and friends, and passed along her canning recipes to the next
generation. She enjoyed playing cards with her lady friends and could always be
counted on for a ride. Lucy hosted a card party for friends the day before she
passed.
Lucy is survived by her three children: Judy (Donald) Schesel, June (Louis)
Mnikolaicik, and Jerry (Candy) Brenner; grandchildren: Sherri (Dave) Drozd, Jeff
(Bonnie) Schesel, Holly (Ryan) Winkler and Farron (Holly Halterman( Schesel,
Kelly (Jim) Prince, Tammy (Chuck) Brandner; Bob (Heather) Brenner, Nick
(Bridget) Brenner and Sasha (Nick) Myers; great-grandchildren: MacKenzie,
Mckayla and Autumn Drozd; Eli Winkler; Jaryn, Janelle, Jaella and Jayce Schesel;
Jorden, Cody and Caden Prince; Seth, Alivia, Allie and Tyler Brandner; Blaine,
Isaac and Cole Brenner; Emily Brenner and Collin Meyer; and Brenner and Lyv
Myers; one brother, Bernard Jacque of Thorp; and many other relatives and
friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Tony Jacques; and her
husband, Leroy in 1989.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2015, at Holy Family
Church in Stanley with burial in the parish cemetery; Father William Felix
officiated. Pallbearers were: Bob and Nick Brenner, Jeff and Farron Schesel,
Collin Meyer, and Chuck Brandner. Visitation was from 10 a.m. until time of
service at the Plombon Funeral Home, Stanley, on Saturday.
