Ebert, Alfred W. (4 December 1908 - 2 October 1973)
A former Clark County man, Alfred W. Ebert, River Falls, died October 2 at the
age of 64. Funeral services were held Saturday from the Georgas Funeral Home
with the Rev. Roland Roehrs of Zion Lutheran Church, Granton officiating.
Interment was at Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
Born December 4, 1908, at Lindsay, to Rudolph and Anna Gatzke Ebert, Alfred
Ebert was educated in Clark County schools. He had farmed in this area and at
other places. His marriage to the former Esther Schuelke took place February 16,
1932, at Granton.
Survivors in addition to his wife are four children: Mrs. Julian (Arlene)
Anderson of Stratford, Mrs. Allen (Carol) Hendricks of River Falls, Larry Ebert
of Phoenix, Az., and Duane Ebert, stationed with the Merchant Marine Corps at
Duluth, Mn; and seven grandchildren.
Pallbearers were John Apfel, Carl Eslinger, Herman Hagedorn, Rudy Opelt, William
Arndt and Leo Gatzke. Wilfred Galstad sand ‘Come, Ye Desolate’ and ‘I Need Thee
Every Hour’. Miss Marilyn Galstad was the accompanist.
Those from out of town who attended the services included: Mr. and Mrs. Julian
Anderson and family, Stratford; Mrs. Alfred Ebert and Mr. and Mrs. Allen
Henrichs and family, River Falls; Mrs. L. Henrichs, Beloit; Mrs. Clarence
Schuelke, and family and Steve Bowen, Two Harbors, Mn; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence
Schuelke, Jr., La Crosse; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Schuelke, Chicago, Il.; Mr. and
Mrs. George Matzke, Sheboygan, Il.; Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Mielke and Mrs. G. Stanley
Custer, Marshfield.
Many relatives and friends from the Granton area were also in attendance.
