Mary Ellen Hughes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R.F. Hughes, was graduated from
Northwestern University, Evanston, Ill., on Saturday, June 12, 1965. Mary Ellen
received a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from the Medill School of
Journalism, N.Y.
Over 2,600 degrees and diplomas were granted at the ceremonies held at 10:30
Saturday morning, June 12, in McGaw Hall, Northwestern University.
Mary Ellen is a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. Her future plans include
enlistment in the Peace Corps. Following is a training period this summer at
Quebec, Canada. Mary Ellen will teach English in a secondary school in Senegal,
West Africa.
