Potocnik, Sally Louise (5 JUN 1965)
The Rev. L.A. Urman officiated at the wedding uniting Miss Sally Louise
Potocnik, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Potocnik, to Jeffery Allen Ewert, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Arlyn Ewert of Unity. The ceremony took place at St. John’s
Lutheran Church in Withee on Saturday, June 5, 1965 at a four o’clock ceremony.
Mrs. Dallas Granquist of Freeport rendered two vocal selections, “O Perfect
Love” and “The Marriage Hymn.” Sharon Heideman accompanied her at the organ.
When given in marriage by her father, the bride was attired in a street length
dress of lace and silk organza, which featured a bateau neckline and
three-quarter length sleeves, and a full flared skirt, which was accented by a
draped cummerbund. Her headpiece, an organza rosette, held her face veil, and
she carried a bouquet of red roses and white carnations.
Mrs. Dale Amacher of Chicago, Ill. And Miss Judith Miller of Withee, were matron
of honor and bridesmaid. Their sata peau dresses in street length were styled
with sweetheart necklines and semi-full skirts. Small floral headpieces held
their face veils and each carried a basket of pink and yellow carnations and
white mums.
Donald Mataczynski of Conrath served as best man, with Richard Walloch of
Stevens Point, the groomsman. Dale Amacher, Chicago and Jerry Timm of New Mexico
did ushering duties.
After the ceremony, a reception took place in the Bethany Church basement at
Owen.
The new Mrs. Ewert is a 1965 graduate of Owen-Withee High School and her husband
is a 1963 graduate of Colby High School. He also graduated this year from the
Wausau Technical Institute at Wausau and is employed as an electronic engineer
with Barber Coleman of Rockford, Ill., where they will make their home.
Among those attending the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Timm of New Miexico;
Martha Griffin of Los Angeles, Calif.; Rod Ewert of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Emil
Makinen of Bruce Crossing, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. Dale Amacher of Chicago, and the
