Armin Peterson spent several days last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Ostenson, Bloomer, Wis. His cousins, Mr. Kenneth and Mr. George Schroeder Jr. of Chicago joined him there on a fishing trip.

The Curtiss Community Club will meet at the fire hall on Thursday, July 1 at 6:30 p.m.

Mrs. Elizabeth Buss, Rachel Hill and Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Schneider returned from their ten day trip to Texas, where they visited the Schneider’s son, who is in the air force there.

Mrs. Martha Harmel is visiting the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. George smith, Chili, this week.

The members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church held their family picnic at the village park Sunday afternoon.

Douglas Matthias of Charlotte, N.C., arrived here Wednesday to visit his grandmother, Mrs. F.H. Matthias. He returned to his work Sunday.

Mrs. Herbert Thess and her daughter, Sandra Konik, are leaving for New York Saturday, where they will spend several days at the World’s Fair. On July 1 they will sail for South Hampton England, where they will visit relatives.

Gene Wainscot returned home from St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield last weekend, where he was hospitalized with a broken ankle for a week.

Mrs. Sherman Long and granddaughter, Judy Klemetson, left for Racine Wednesday to attend the wedding of Connie Rohn Saturday. Other relatives who attended were her grandfather, Sherman Long Sr. and aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Ridpath, who left by bus Friday evening.

Lyle Johnson, Lionel Schiszik, Victor Borgemoen and Glen Frane attended the district firemen’s convention at Stetsonville Monday evening.

John Michlig fell of a ladder at his home last weekend and broke his hip. He is hospitalized at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, where he will be confined for some time.

Miss Gertrude Schultz of Milwaukee and Martha Schultz of Abbotsford were guests at the home of their sister, Mrs. Ann Ton last week. Other guests there were Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Meschefske and family of Stetsonville and Miss Sharon Bohrman, Medford.

Mr. and Mrs. Lavern Johnson and family of Rochelle, Ill. Are guests this week at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Johnson.

The Curtiss homemakers who took the bus trip to New Glarus and Madison Thursday were Mrs. Bertha Petersen, Mrs. Lucy Johnson, Mrs. Hulda Anderson, Mrs. Anita Johnson, Mrs. Catherine Jakel, Mrs. Jean Goessel, Mrs. Beatrice Michlig, Mrs. Ida Johnson, Mrs. Geraldine Frane, Dorothy Geary, and Mrs. Beverly Utke.

Mr. and Mrs. C.W. Geary and Dorothy were Sunday guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Geary and family, Markesan.

Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Stecker and family, Ashland, spent the weekend at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Ackerman. Their three children will visit their grandparents for two weeks.

Mrs. Laura Blodgett of Sommerville, N.J. and Mrs. Wm. Maki of Owen and Bertha Kraut were Sunday guests at the home of Martha Harmel.

Mrs. Anna Ton and Martha Schultz attended a family reunion at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Meschefske, Stetsonville, Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Ray Kobs were guests at the Ray Bunkelman home, Chippewa Falls, Sunday.
