Selection of an outstanding farmer to represent our area at the Wisconsin State
Fair each year is one of the duties of the Owen-Withee FFA Chapter. This year’s
selection is Allan Niemi. Allan farm 347 acres just north of Withee (Clark Co.,
Wis.). Allan has double the size of his dairy herd since purchasing the farm in
1951. He has built a new loafing barn, a paved feedlot, two new silos, and has
also installed a bunk feeder. Allan will be invited to the Wisconsin State Fair,
have lunch with Governor Knowles, be a guest of the state department of
agriculture for the day and receive a certificate from the Wisconsin Department
of Agriculture and the Wisconsin State Board of vocational and adult education.
