Kelnhofer, Bernardine (Bruening) (24 JAN 1924 - 17 MAR 2015)
Bernardine Kelnhofer, age 91, of Wisconsin Rapids, WI died Tuesday, March 17,
2015 at Riverview Hospital, surrounded by her family.
Funeral Services are 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at St. Vincent de Paul
Catholic Church, Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Rev. William Menzel will officiate.
Visitation will be at Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids, WI from
4:00-7:00 PM Tuesday and Wednesday at the Church from 10:00-11:00 AM. Entombment
in Forest Hill Mausoleum.
Bernardine was born January 24, 1924 in Milladore, WI to William and Mary (Lauscher)
Bruening.
She was united in marriage to Roman Kelnhofer on September 2, 1944. Bernardine
was employed by the Drift Inn, Mead Inn and Wilburns and worked many years and
retired from the hot lunch program at West Junior High School in Wisconsin
Rapids, WI.
Bernardine is survived by her children, Leo (Karen) Kelnhofer of Manchester, IA,
Richard (Elizabeth) Kelnhofer, Russ (Roberta) Kelnhofer and Paul (Bridget)
Kelnhofer from Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Ellen Kelnhofer of Chicago, IL, Ruth
Kelnhofer of Madison, WI, Juliann Frank (Dennis Morris) of Rockton, IL, Jon
(Lynn) Kelnhofer of Marshfield, WI and June (Tony) Fontana of Mt. Horeb, WI.
Bernardine and Roman were blessed with 22 grandchildren and 31 great
grandchildren. She is also survived by loving in laws, nieces, nephews and a
host of long-time friends.
Bernardine was preceded in death by her parents, husband Roman; son David and
daughter in law, Mary Kelnhofer; grandson, Andrew Kelnhofer; twin brother and
sister-in-law, Bernard and Gertrude Bruening and brother and sister-in-law,
Henry and Marie Bruening.
