Brey, Michael W. (2 AUG 1960 - 29 MAR 2015)
Michael W. Brey, age 54, of Marshfield, formerly of Colby, passed away
peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at the Ministry St. Joseph's
Hospital in Marshfield.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 1, 2015
at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Colby. Father Daniel Hackel will officiate.
Interment will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Colby. Family and
friends are welcome from 5:00 until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, March 31 at the Maurina-Schilling
Funeral Home in Colby with a Rosary Service at 5:00 PM and from 10:00 AM until
time of service Wednesday at the church.
Michael was born on August 2, 1960, the son of Daniel and Marilyn (Devine) Brey
in Marshfield. He attended St. Mary's Catholic Grade School and graduated from
Colby High School in 1978. Michael attended UW-Marshfield and UW-Eau Claire
studying accounting. He worked for various businesses as a bookkeeper.
Michael enjoyed the theatre and was active in the Showcase Players in Colby and
the Campus Community Players at UW-Marshfield. He participated in cross country,
Cherokee Chum 4-H showing chickens and woodworking and played the tuba in high
school. Michael also enjoyed watching sports, drinking pepsi and eating
chocolate.
Michael is survived by his father, Daniel Brey of Colby; six sisters and one
brother: Deborah Brey of Colby, Diane Brey of Appleton; Sally (Robert) Crane of
Stevens Point, Gary (Vicky) Brey of Appleton, Doreen (David) Hebert of Spencer,
Kathleen (Joseph) Conley of Marshfield and Judine Brey of Eau Claire; ten nieces
and nephews: Joshua, Amy and Nicholas Crane, Kevin and Kelly Brey, Daniel,
Marcella and Steven Hebert and Anthony and Theodore Conley. He is further
survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Marilyn and his grandparents.
A very special thank you to his extended family at Golden Horizons in Marshfield
for their loving care and making Michael a part of their family these past 10
years.
