Pickett, Sylvia I. (Beaver) (13 DEC 1930 - 22 MAR 2015)
Sylvia I. Pickett, age 84, of Spencer, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2015, at
Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be
held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2015. at Christ the King Catholic
Church, in Spencer. Rev. Samuel Martin will officiate and burial will follow in
West Spencer Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the church, on Tuesday, March 24, 2015, from 4 p.m.
to 8 p.m., and again on Wednesday, from 10 a.m. until time of service.
Sylvia Isabelle Beaver was born on December 13, 1930, in Loyal, WI, the daughter
of Bernard Sr. and Rosetta (Ryan) Beaver. She was raised and received her
education in the Loyal area, graduating from Loyal High School in 1948.
Sylvia was united in marriage to Jack N. Pickett on June 28, 1950, at Christ the
King Catholic Church in Spencer.
They lived and farmed northwest of Spencer until 1980, at which time they moved
into Spencer. While Sylvia was a homemaker and farm wife for most of her life,
she also had worked seasonally at the Loyal Cannery for a few years, worked at
Land O' Lakes in Spencer for a short time after moving off of the farm, and
babysat for area families.
She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and was an active member of
its PCCW. She had many interests, but especially enjoyed spending time with her
family and friends, crossword puzzles, crocheting, reading and square dancing in
her younger years.
Sylvia will be dearly missed by her children, Brian (Jacqueline) Pickett of
Spencer; Earl (Annette) Pickett of Marshfield; Michelle Pickett of Spencer; 3
grandchildren, Dawn (Chad) Much of Spencer; Benjamin (Lorrie) Pickett of
Marshfield; Rochelle Holmes of Menomonie; 3 great-grandchildren, Brandon and
Brody Much, and Elle Sofia Fults; one brother, Bernard Beaver, Jr. of Milwaukee;
one sister-in-law: Helen "Cookie" Beaver of Milwaukee; nieces, nephews, other
relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers, Richard and Ronald
Beaver.
