Resong, Ronald John (1 November 1939 - 19 March 2015)
Ronald Resong, 75, of Neillsville, died Thursday, March 19, 2015, at his home.
Ronald John Resong was born Nov. 1, 1939, in Neillsville, the son of John Marcus
and Marie Josephine (Langreck) Resong. He attended St. Mary’s Catholic Parochial
School and graduated in 1958 from Neillsville Public High School. After
graduating from high school, he joined the religious order of brothers of St.
Pius X in De Soto, WI. He eventually came back to Neillsville and looked for a
job in his home area. He was employed at the Farmers Store for a number of years
and then took a job at Memorial Medical Center. After several years working
there, he was then employed at Nelson Muffler, where he worked until his
retirement. Ron loved music. He was talented to be able to play various
instruments such as the clarinet, guitar, accordion, piano and Organ. He
provided organ music for Sunday services and for many weddings and funerals over
the years. He also provided musical entertainment for the elderly at Memorial
Medical Center.
Ron liked to travel and was a big Brewers, Packers and Wisconsin Badgers fan. He
enjoyed walking his dog, Taco, and enjoyed the slots and buffet at the Casino.
Ron is survived by a brother, James (Susan Schrank) Resong of Neillsville; a
sister, Mary Ann (Randy) Sands of Prescott; two aunts, Sister Nina Langreck and
Sister Lillia Langreck, both of Milwaukee, an uncle, Bob (Mary Ann) Langreck, of
Neillsville; three nieces and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five uncles and four aunts.
The Mass of Christian Burial for Ron was held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 24,
2015, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The celebrant was Rev. Varkey V. Joseph.
Music was provided by Vicente Cortez, organist and St. Mary’s Choir. Interment
was in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation was from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Casketbearers were: Rod Sands, Gary Nauertz, Larry Nauertz, Wayne Opelt, John
Langreck and Jim Langreck.
