Wenck, Lorraine Evelyn (25 August 1921 - 22 March 2015)
Lorraine Wenck, 93, of Marshfield, formerly of Granton, died Sunday, March 22,
2015 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.
Lorraine Evelyn Garbisch was born Aug. 25, 1921, in Granton, the daughter of
Arnold and Gertrude (Helm) Garbisch. She attended Romadka rural school and
graduated from Granton High School. She then attended Wood County normal College
in Wisconsin Rapids. She was united in marriage to Marvin E. Wenck Aug. 1, 1943,
in Lidderdale, IA. Lorraine taught for 23 years. Marvin died July 7, 1999.
She was baptized and confirmed at the Zion Lutheran Church in Granton. She
enjoyed gardening, crafts, baking, emailing and traveling.
She is survived by four children: Judith (Gerald) Urey of Marshfield, Stanley
(Patricia) Wenck of Douglasville, GA, Ralph of Phoenix, AZ, and Willard (Susa n)
Wenck of Kenosha; 10 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, numerous
great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Erlin Garbisch of
Slinger; and a sister, Joyce Opelt of Marshfield.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin E. Wenck; a son, Llew Wenck;
her parents, Arnold and Gertrude Garbisch.
Funeral services for Lorraine will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 27, 2015, at
the Zion Lutheran Church in Granton. Pastor Daniel Schoessow will officiate.
Music will be provided by Caroline Helm, organist. Visitation will be from 10
a.m. to 11 a.m., Friday at the Zion Lutheran Church.
