Warjonen, Ida Johanna (4 MAY 1887 – 3 JUL 1965)
Ida Johanna Warjonen of this city (Owen, Clark Co., Wis.), died Saturday, July
3, 1965, with funeral services being conducted Tuesday, July 6. They were held
at the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home, with Rev. Paul Troper reading the final
rites. Burial was made at Riverside Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were So Laasko, Arnie Laasko, Toivo Maninen, Tom Jablonic,
Joe Zelinski and Ted Piekola.
Born May 4, 1887 in Finland, the deceased, nee Ida Johanna Gronrows, came to the
United States in 1913 with her husband, Santeri Warjonen, whom she married in
1909 in Finland. The couple first settled at Montreal, Wis., moving to the Owen
(Clark Co.) area in 1921. They farmed in the town of Beaver until 1946, when
they moved onto a farm they purchased in the town of Longwood, where they made
their home until their retirement in 1957, when they came to Owen.
She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Carl (Hilda) Lehtil, living
in Russia, and Ida Warjonen, Owen, and a grandson.
