Fosnow, Mabel (16 MAR 1882 – 7 JUL 1965)
Graveyard services for Mrs. Peter (Mabel) Fosnow, a former Withee (Clark Co.,
Wis.) resident, were conducted at Riverside Cemetery on Monday, July 12. Mrs.
Fosnow suffered a stroke at a nursing home in Minneapolis, where she had been a
resident the past several years and passed away July 7, 1965. She was 83 years,
3 months and 21 days of age.
Rev. Leastman officiated at the final rites, with Daniel McShane, Kenneth
Fosnow, A.W. Fosnow and Paul McShane serving as pallbearers.
Born March 16, 1882 at Bridgeport, Wis., the deceased came to the Withee area in
the early 1920’s, where she and her husband, the late Peter Fosnow farmed for
better than 40 years in the town of Hixon. For several years they made their
home in Withee, until his death on April 19, 1952. Shortly thereafter she left
this community, moving to Minneapolis, where she made her home with a daughter,
Edith, for eight years. When her health began to fail she became a resident of
the Texa Tonka Nursing Home.
Her passing is mourned by a son, Albert of Minneapolis; and three daughters,
Edith Fosnow of Minneapolis, Mrs. Mildred Peach of St. Louis Park, Minn., and
Mrs. Paul (Elsie) McShane, Everett, Wash.
