Huntzicker, Maud (10 February 1893 - 11 October 1973)

Mrs. Fred (Maud) Huntzicker, 80, a former resident of Greenwood, died last Thursday at Cedar Lake home in West Bend, where she had resided for the last two years.

The former Maud Miller was born February 10, 1893, in Stockbridge and came to Greenwood with her family at an early age. Following her graduation from Greenwood High School with the class of 1912, she attended the Oshkosh Normal School.

Prior to her marriage to Fred W. Huntzicker on June 2, 1920, at Omro, she taught school in the Greenwood area and in North Dakota. After their marriage the Huntzicker’s settled on a farm near Greenwood, where she lived until 1954; she then moved into the city of Greenwood and in 1970 became a resident of the Fall Creek Nursing Home. Since September, 1971, she had resided at the Cedar Lake Home in West Bend.

Mrs. Huntzicker was active in the Grace United Methodist Church and taught Sunday school there for many years. She was a member of the Women’s Society of Christian Service and the Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include: three daughters, Miss Jane Huntzicker of Yakima, Wash., Mrs. William (Mary) Snyder of Canoga Park, Ca., and Mrs. Austin (Anne) Mlada of Hales Corners; two sons, John H. Huntzicker, Pacific Palisades, Ca, and William M. Huntzicker, Harbor City, Ca; a sister, Mrs. Judith Messing of Wisconsin Rapids; two brothers: the Rev. Daniel Miller of Martha’s Vineyard, Mass., and David Miller of Green Valley, Ariz.; and 11 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday from Grace United Methodist Church in Greenwood, with Rev. Eugene Antrim, pastor, officiating. Burial was made in the Greenwood cemetery.
