Clark, Amelia M. "Molly" (3 FEB 1878 – 15 JUL 1965)
One of Owen's (Clark Co., Wis.) pioneer residents, Mrs. Amelia (Molly) Clark,
was place in her final resting place at Riverside Cemetery after a requiem mass
had been said at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen, Saturday morning, July
17, Father H.L. Crubel officiating.
Serving as pallbearers were Dan Dietzle, Harry Dempsey, J.J. Crowley, Julius
Johnson, Howard Devine and Tony Ciokiewicz.
Born Feb. 3, 1878 in Green Grove Township, she was united in marriage to the
late Thomas Clark in 1898 in a ceremony performed at Thorp. Mr. Clark preceded
her in death in 1950. The couple made their home in the Thorp area for six years
on a farm, then moved to Owen, where she had spent the remaining 56 years of her
life.
She was 87 years of age when she passed away Thursday, July 15, after being ill
for several months.
Survivors include three sons, Lawrence, Frank and Roy, all of Owen; three
daughters, Miss Gertrude Clark, St. Paul, Mrs. Ted (Lottie) Nelson, Palmdale,
Calif., and Mrs. Sylvester (Mildred) Spengel, Appleton; five sisters, Mrs. Rose
Mews, Chicago; Mrs. Jack (Emma) Goetz, Cleveland, Ohio; Mrs. Hattie Bottrud, and
Mrs. Thelma Lendfur, Redwood, Calif.; and Mrs. Mary Miller, Sigourney, Ia.; 11
grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers.
