Puro, Hanna (4 MAY 1884 - 5 AUG 1965)
Rev. Leslie Lurvey of Ontario, Canada officiated at the final rites held for
Mrs. Hanna Puro Saturday afternoon, Aug. 7. Services were conducted from the
Bethany Lutheran Church, Owen, with burial being made at Riverside Cemetery.
Pallbearers included Anton Kallio, Voitto Mutka, Solomon Laakso, Kauno Niemi,
Wm. Kangas, and Oscar Makkonen.
Mrs. Puro passed away Aug 5, 1965 at the age of 81 years, being born May 4, 1884
in Finland. On May 19, 1910 she was united in marriage to the late Henry Puro in
a ceremony performed at Ironwood, Mich. He preceded her in death on June 11,
1951.
The couple came to this community in 1914, settling on a farm in the town of
Hoard (Clark Co., Wis.), where they farmed until their retirement in 1946.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Tinna Makkonen, Owen; four sons, Pentha, Owen; Arvo,
Coloma; Pellevo, Waukegan, Ill., and Onnin, Goshen, Ind.; three daughters, Mrs.
Ernest (Gertrude) Brien, Fond du Lac, Wis.; Mrs. Homer (Helen) Watson,
Indianapolis, Ind., and Mrs. George (Miriam) Luoma, Ontonagon, Mich.; and 26
grandchildren.
