Scherf, Floyd (2 MAR 1906 – 15 AUG 1965)
A lifelong resident of the Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) community, Floyd Scherf,
died at 8:30 Sunday morning at St. Joseph’s Hospital of injuries sustained in an
automobile accident which occurred on the 9th of August. He had been
hospitalized since the accident and underwent major surgery for abdominal
injuries on Wednesday.
Funeral services were conducted at two o’clock Tuesday afternoon from the Hoeper
and Kraut Funeral Home. Rev. Robert Goessling, pastor of the United Church of
Christ, Owen, was in charge of the service, with burial being made at Riverside
Cemetery.
Arthur Karrow, Bertel, Jens Miller, Leon Bruchert, Don Hawks and Wm. Warns
served as pallbearers, while Martha Rasmussen, Ida Munson, Irene Munson, Hester
Welker, Julia albert, Carraine Albert and Arlie Hutchins were in charge of
floral offerings.
Mr. Scherf was born March 2, 1906, in the town of Hixon (Clark Co., Wis.), near
Withee, and received his education in the Withee schools. He had lived on the
home farm until 1936, when he moved to make his home with his sister, Miss
Natalie Scherf. He was never married.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Emmaline Parkinson, Owen; and Miss Natalie
Scherf, Withee; and a brother, Sabon Scherf, Route 1, Withee.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
