Stuve, Mr./Mrs. Howell (Gold - 30 DEC 1965)
Mr. and Mrs. Howell A. Stuve of Owen (Clark Co.), Wis. observed their 50th
wedding anniversary Saturday, Aug. 21 at their home in Owen. The couple were
married in St. Paul, Minn., Dec. 30, 1915. They have six daughters, Gwin Hurley
of Minneapolis, Minn.; Janet Anderson and Mary Harms of Sturgis, S.D.; Virginia
Bonney of Seattle, Wash.; Phyllis of Portland, Ore.; and Dorothy Kostlevy of
Loyal, Wis. There are four sons, Paul R. of St. Paul, Minn.; R. Gordon of
Monroe, Wash.; Dwight E. of Wis. Rapids, Wis.; Frank H., Navy pilot, deceased in
1943.
Eleven granddaughters and fourteen grandsons were all present for the occasion.
Others present were Mrs. Stuve’s two sisters, Mrs. Koral Stoddard of Bellingham,
Wash. And Mrs. Iva Rezin of Wis. Rapids, Wis.; two of Mr. Stuve’s brothers,
Ulysses and Raymond and wife of Humbird, Wis.; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Martin
of Humbird, Wis. and Mrs. Karl Helwig and husband of Danbury, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs.
Dudley Short and family of Waverly, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Goplin and family
of Madison, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Norman Martin and family of Whitewater, Wis.; Mr.
and Mrs. Roy L. Anderson and family of Madison, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. James Martin
and baby of Beloit, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Martin and family of Humbird; Mr.
and Mrs. J. Jacobson and children of Cobb, Wis.; Mrs. Vera Craig of Highland,
Wis.; Ellen Raether of Portland, ore.; Mrs. Bertha Hart of Neillsville, Wis.;
Mr. and Mrs. Alton Stallard of Eau Claire, Wis.; Mrs. Dan Rezin, Mrs. John
Bender of Wis. Rapids, Wis.; Mahlon Lund, Humbird, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Archi
Burnett, Hixon, Wis.; Hattie Stuve, Fairchild, Wis.
Also many local neighbors and friends came to rejoice with them.
Mr. Stuve retired from forty-two years as rural mail carrier in 1960. At about
the time Mrs. Stuve retired from fifteen years of teaching, mostly in Clark
County.
