Mr. and Mrs. Joe Zudonyi, Mary Ann and friend, Roberta Kehrwald, returned to
their home in Highland Park, Ill. Saturday, after spending the past week at
their cottage at Jim Falls. Nancy Nevala returned with them from Highland Park,
where she has been employed for the summer months. Susan Nevala accompanied them
to Jim Falls where she spent the week. On their return trip to Highland Park,
they were overnight guests Friday of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Nevala.
Monday evening former Owen residents, Mr. and Mrs. Don Hertzfeldt and son,
Billy, now of Ladysmith, visited here with friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester O’Brien and their daughter Carol returned August 11 from
a vacation trip. They visited with their so George and his family at Vermillion,
S.D. George and his family accompanied his parents and sister to Harding, Mont.
They visited with an aunt and cousin of Sylvester O’Brien.
Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester O’Brien and Carol, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Pribbernow and
family, all of Owen, and Mr. and Mrs. Dave Bergman and family of Athens enjoyed
a family picnic at Rock Dam and Mead Dam on Aug. 15. Peggy Bergman stayed on
with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester O’Brien, after the Sunday picnic.
Betty Lou Decker, Margaret Kitze and Sandra Wenzel returned home Saturday of
last week, driving with Jack Parker from Winnetka, Ill. The girls have been
employed there this summer.
Cathy Decker was hostess Aug. 16 to 4-H club, which met at the home of her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Decker.
Jacky Barager arrived home last week Friday night from Beaver Dam, where he has
been visiting for the past three weeks at the home of his aunt and uncle, Mr.
and Mrs. W.F. Berg and cousin Johnnie.
W.K. Doonan spent the weekend and a few days this week in Owen from his summer
home at Cable.
