Pvt. Dennis R. Henke, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence E. Henke, Owen (Clark Co.,
Wis.), completed advanced training as a cannoneer under the Reserve Enlistment
program at the army artillery and missile center, Ft. Sill, Okla., Oct. 14, and
returned home on Friday.
Henke was trained in the preparation, loading and firing of field artillery guns
and howitzers.
The 18-year-old soldier is scheduled to complete the remainder of his military
obligation with Battery A of the 121st Artillery’s 1st Battalion, an Army
National Guard unit in Stanley, Wis.
He is a 1965 graduate of Owen-Withee High School.
