A/2c Donald J. Zielanis left Nov. 2 for New Jersey where he was to leave by
plane for his new assigned base in Spain. Donald had enjoyed the past six weeks
of leave at the home of his mother, Mrs. Elsie Zielanis. Also home over the
Thanksgiving weekend was Robert Zielanis, who is employed in Minneapolis.
Mrs. Nellie Svenson’s sister, Mrs. Jake Bossart of Fargo, N.D. has been enjoying
a visit with her. They went to Waukegan for Thanksgiving where they visited at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Worthams. Mrs. Bossart will remain for a longer
visit with her sister, Mrs. Svenson.
Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Albert and sons of Milwaukee and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Albert
and family of Gays Mills spent Thanksgiving Day at the home of their parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Albert.
Dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Miller on Thanksgiving Day were
Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Miller of Addison, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. John Wittek of Lublin,
and Mrs. Stanley Danczak and family, Lublin.
Ronald and Connie Engel, students at Valparaiso University, Valparaiso, Indiana,
returned to their studies Sunday, after spending the Thanksgiving holiday at the
home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Engel.
Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Frost spent Thanksgiving at the home of their son-in-law and
daughter, Mr. and Mrs. William Fischer and family in Minneapolis.
Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Wall spent the past week at the home of their son-in-law
and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Stevens in Winter and Mr. Wall went deer
hunting in that area where he shot his buck.
Mr. and Mrs. Ole Ammentorp and Mrs. Anna Bundgaard spent Thursday in Northfield,
where Mrs. Bundgaard spent Thanksgiving at the home of his son, Axel, and
family, while the Ammentorps visited their son bill and his family.
Thanksgiving dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Jalling were Mrs.
Eva Flackey, Mrs. Rose Leland, Eau Claire; Misses Susan Schanemeyer of Park
Falls, Linda Jalling, Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Jalling and sons, Scot and
Ricky, Mr. and Mrs. Jon Blunck and John Jr.
Mr. and Mrs. David Poppe and family left Sunday afternoon for their home in
Stoddard after spending the past week visiting their mothers, Mrs. Mable Miolund
and Mrs. Viola Poppe and Dan also spent some time deer hunting.
Richard and Judy Miller, students at the university at Madison, spent the
Thanksgiving holidays at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Armand Miller.
Donald Miller of River Falls spent the weekend visiting his family here.
Mr. and Mrs. Otto Calbaum, Oshkosh spent Thanksgiving weekend at the homes of
her children, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Poppe; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gay and Mr. and Mrs.
Edward Miller, and also attended the wedding of their granddaughter, Miss
Paulette Poppe, to Larry Klabon on Friday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Bruchert and Mr. and Mrs. George Sorensen and Mr. and Mrs.
Arne Dehne spent Thanksgiving Day at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Leibke in
Minneapolis.
Glenn Buchanan was dismissed from St. Joseph’s Hospital Sunday, where he has
been receiving treatments the past two weeks.
Guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Andreasen on Thanksgiving Day were Mr.
and Mrs. Alvin Clifton and family of Chippewa Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard
Buchanan and family, and Glenn Buchanan.
Mrs. Joyce Ness and Jim Baake of Aurora, Ill. And Mr. and Mrs. Ron Krogman of
Audubon, Minn. visited the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Uno Baake, the
past weekend, and also attended open house in honor of their brother and
sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. George Baake, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Howard
Parker in Owen.
Several little friends were entertained at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Armand
Miller Saturday in honor of their daughter, Kristine’s seventh birthday
anniversary.
Thanksgiving dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Karl Jensen were Mr. and
Mrs. Gale Kienholz and family of St. Paul, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Kodl and Debbie
of Thorp, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kienholz and so and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Nazer and
daughter, Phileman, of Chippewa Falls, and Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Jensen of Owen.
