Now making their home in Seattle, Wash. are Mr. and Mrs. Michael R. Kelley, who
were married on Saturday, Dec. 18, 1965 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in
Owen. The 11:30 nuptial mass was conducted by Rev. Fr. H.L. Crubel, which united
Miss Shirley Adeline Lew, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lew of Withee (Clark
Co., Wis.), to Michael R. Kelley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo L. Kelley of
Snoqualmie, Wash.
When given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a full length silk peau
gown with a fitted bodice, Sabrina neckline and A-line skirt front, with a full
back which had two panels designed from the center back that fell into a large
cathedral train. The bodice, the front hemline and throughout the large train
were appliqued Alencon. Lace medallion with pearl trim. A three tier all silk
English illusion bouffant veil was attached to a cluster of fabric roses with
forward leaves trimmed with pearls and crystals. Her bouquet cascade consisted
of white poinsettias with holly foliage.
Attending the bride as maid of honor was Miss Theresa Wilczek of Wausau, with
Mrs. Wayne Yacum of Madison serving as bridesmaid. They wore floor length gowns
of chiffon over taffeta in azeline fitted bodice, scoop neckline, A-line skirt
with two small bows in the front waistline. At the center back was a large bow
with a Watteau. They wore a forward headpiece of roses and petals with a
circular veil. Their flowers were a crescent bouquet of white poinsettias with
holly foliage.
Attending the groom as best man was Mr. Wayne Yacum of Madison. They both wore
tuxedos.
A reception was held from 7:30 to 12 o’clock at the Meadowview Country Club in
Owen to a large number of guests.
The bride is a graduate of the Owen-Withee High School and from the Humboldt
Business and Airline School at Minneapolis. She has been employed as a teller at
the First American National Bank in Wausau.
The groom, a graduate of the Mount Si High School at Snoqualmie, Wash, is
employed as an IBM tab operator with the Standard Oil Company in Seattle, Wash.
Guests at the wedding came from Wausau, Stevens Point, Colby, Stanley, Merrill,
Lublin, Gilman, Milwaukee, Green Bay, Abbotsford, Thorp, Eau Claire, Chicago,
Neillsville, Madison, Withee and Owen.
