Naval Art Collections (The Highground - 2015)

The Highground is privileged to bring two one-of-a-kind art collections to The Highground Learning Center: ‘Women in Uniform’ and ‘Remembering the Forgotten War: Korea.’ These are original works of art done by Navy veterans while in service.

Anyone interested in beautiful artwork that tells the history of the U.S. Navy in pictures won’t want to miss seeing this exhibit. There are pieces from WWII, Korea, Vietnam and present day. Several different styles and mediums are available to admire and study by 14 different artists, including Herbert Hahn, Christine Cancelli and Hugh Cabot, to name a few.

It is not often extra ordinary collections like these are available to people in rural areas and free of charge. The exhibit is made available courtesy of Naval History and Heritage Command Washington Navy Yard - Washington, DC, and will remain on display until 4 p.m. April 30, 2015.

The Highground Learning Center is located at W7031 Ridge Road, Neillsville, and is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
