Toraason, Clifford M. (14 OCT 1888 – 2 JAN 1966)
Dr. Clifford M. Toraason, a dentist who practiced his profession in the city of
Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) for 40 years prior to his retirement in 1960, passed away
Sunday afternoon at the Veterans Hospital in Madison.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 yesterday morning (Wednesday, Jan. 5) from
St. Katherine’s Episcopal Church. Father Richard Hewetson officiated, with his
remains being sent to Oshkosh, where members of the Van Huizen – Fritz American
Legion Post 123 of Owen conducted military services at the grave.
Serving as pallbearers were Henry Anderson, Henry Wollum, Harvey Weddig, Ted
Robertson, Arthur Awe and E.C. Olds.
Clifford Milford Toraason was born Oct. 14, 1888 at Blair, Wis. He was a
graduate of the school o dentistry at Northwestern University and a veteran of
World War I. In 1920 he came to Owen, opening his dental practice here. On July
1, 1927 he and the late Viola Terwedo were united in marriage. The union was
blessed with two children, a daughter, Mrs. William (Sidney) Klammer, Kaukauna,
and a son, Clifford, of Cincinnati, Ohio.
In addition to the two children, he is survived by two brothers, Dr. Goodwin
Toraason, Blair; and Palmer Toraason, Whitehall, and a sister, Stella Toraason,
also of Whitehall.
His wife preceded him in death passing away August 5, 1964.
