Miss Susan Irene Coleman of Eau Claire exchanged wedding vows with David Jon
Devine of Eau Claire, Saturday no one, Jan. 8, 1966 at St. Patrick’s Catholic
Church, Eau Claire. Fr. Robert Cook officiated at the ceremony.
Mr. and Mrs. E.H. Metcalf, 1328 Fourth St., Livermore, Calif., and Mr. and Mrs.
James Devine, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), are the parents of the couple.
Given in marriage by her brother, Robert Coleman, stationed in Budigen, Germany,
the bride wore a floor length gown of angel mist taffeta styled with an empire
waistline and an A-line skirt. The long sleeves featured a flattering deep
ruffle of Venice lace. A pill box enhanced with pearls on lace appliques held
her bouffant veil of sheer illusion. She carried a cascade of white carnations
and ivy.
Mrs. Nila Newton, Chippewa Falls, was matron of honor. Marlene Miner, Hopkins,
Minn., and Kay Devine, city, were the bridesmaids. They wore floor length
dresses in delft blue and light blue. Elbow length sleeves and a scoop neckline
and a bodice of Venice lace.
Thomas Devine was the best man. Dale Newton and Mike Devine were the groomsmen.
Dan Devine and Pat Devine were the ushers.
A reception as held at the American Legion Post 53, city. After the wedding
trip, the newlyweds will reside at 610 Putnam Street, city.
