Schwandt, Glenn L. (6 AUG 1895 – 3 JAN 1966)
Glenn Lionel Schwandt, age 70, Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.) passed away at St.
Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield at 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 3, 1966 from a heart attack
as caused of death.
Mr. Schwandt was born in Sanborn, Minn., Aug. 6, 1895. He was educated in
Bemidji, Minnesota schools, and married to Inga Klemetson Sept. 24, 1919 at
Bemidji.
Her served in the armed forces during World War I, and operated a general store
in Curtiss from 1921 until he retired in 1951. He served as postmaster for four
eyars and was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
The couple had no children. Surviving, besides his wife, are a sister, Mrs.
Mildred Corbett, Bemidji, Minn., and a brother, Robert Eugene, Oregon, one niece
and five nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother.
Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 7 at 2 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran
Church, Curtiss. Burial was at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, with Roger Tellock
officiating.
Singer was Bunee Kraut, accompanied at the organ by Rhonda Mattson. Hymns were
“Safe in the Arms of Jesus” and “Nearer My Go to Thee.”
Pallbearers were Paul Eckes, Alvin Uhlig, Lawrence, Lavern, Floyd and Harvey
Klemetson.
Out of town relatives who attended the services were Mrs. Mildred Corbett,
Bemidji, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Eckes, Sherwood; Mr. and Mrs. John Suda,
Greenwood; Mrs. Doris Hartle, Colby; Mr. and Mrs. Uhlig, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred
Uhlig, Mr. and Mrs. Adrian Strome, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Uhlig, Mr. and Mrs.
Delbert Uhlig, Abbotsford; Mr. and Mrs. Allen Duno, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Klempke
of Owen and Mrs. Kate Klemetson, Mr. and Mrs. LaVerne Klemetson, Mrs. Lawrence
Klemetson and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Klemetson, Curtiss.
Friends from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Hansen, Peter Hansen, Mr. and Mrs.
Wm. Steinke, Abbotsford; Mr. and Mrs. Halver Becken, John Heber, Colby; Joseph
Hiebsch of Owen and many others from surrounding towns.
