The Birthday Club was entertained Monday evening by Mrs. James McConnell with a
6:30 dinner at the café and cards at the McConnell home later. Prizes were
awarded to Mrs. Don Warner, Mrs. Lawrence Cox, Mrs. Rose Ludwig and Mrs. Casper
Lindner.
Otto Voie, who has been a hospital patient for the last 10 days in Marshfield,
underwent surgery October 9.
The 74th birthday of Louie Vogel, which occurred Wednesday, was observed by
relatives and friends at Memorial Home in Neillsville Tuesday evening and
Wednesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Delmain Toburen and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Suda returned Wednesday
from Fond du Lac, where they attended Farm Progress Days.
Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Vine returned to Janesville Wednesday after visiting since
Monday at the home of his sister, Mrs. Hugh Christie.
Mr. and Mrs. David Danielson were guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Thompson in
Christie.
Relatives and friends were entertained at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Toburen
Friday evening and Monday evening in honor of his birthday. Out-of-town guests
were Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Schmidt of Alma, who spent several days at the Toburen
home.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Steuber of Mondovi visited Saturday at the home of her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Voie.
Visitors Monday at the home of Mrs. John Brezic were her niece, Mrs. Donald
Eslinger, and son, Donald of Sheboygan.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Plunkett attended the Cranberry Festival at Warrens last week
and visited at the Plunkett farm in Tomah.
The Intersee Club met Wednesday evening at the home of Mrs. James McConnell.
The Bridgettes club was entertained Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. Harland
Haunschild.
Mrs. Don Warner and Lawrence Jackson spent Tuesday with their father, Harold
Jackson and his family, in La Crescent, Mn.
Mr. and Mrs. Emory Voie of Fond du Lac spent Monday with his father, Otto Voie,
who is in a hospital in Marshfield.
Mrs. Alice O’Brien and Mrs. Vivian Roberts of Wausau visited Wednesday with
their mother, Mrs. Alice Stiefvater, who is spending some time at the home of
her sister, Mrs. Katherine Lindner.
Mr. and Mrs. Cletus Hinker of Burbank, Il., and their son-in-law and daughter,
Mr. and Mrs. Michael Vogel and children of Hawaii, arrived Tuesday to visit Mrs.
Sylvester Hinker and other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Charles Kilger and Mrs. Catherine Haupt of Park Falls spent Tuesday here
with their niece, Mrs. Leona Syth.
Mrs. Florence Schwarze, and Miss Avis Gordee spent Friday evening with the
latter’s mother, Mrs. Harry Gordee, at the Marshfield Convalescent Home.
Weekend guests of Mrs. Leona Syth were her daughters, Miss Geraldine Syth of
Chicago and Mrs. Suzanne Brockman and daughter, Samantha, of Appleton; also Miss
Virginia Kobeski and her mother, Mrs. Marguarite Kobeski of Chicago.
Mr. and Mrs. John Kaltinger and Mr. and Mrs. John Gatz visited last week in Red
Wing, Mn., and at the Pottery there.
Mr. and Mrs. James Webb and daughter, Linda, of San Francisco, Ca., spent
Tuesday at the home of her mother, Mrs. Olaf Johnson.
