Strohkirch, Lois J. (27 OCT 1912 – 5 FEB 1966)
Mrs. Russell Strohkirch, who had been a resident of the Owen and Withee (Clark
Co., Wis.) communities since 1914, died Feb. 5, 1966 at St. Joseph’s Hospital at
Marshfield. She had been in ill health the past several months and her death was
attributed to coronary thrombosis several hours after surgery.
Born Oct. 27, 1912 at East Grand Forks, Minn., Mrs. Strohkirch, nee Lois Jane
Capes, spent practically her entire life in these communities. On Aug. 19, 1933
she and Russell Strohkirch were united in marriage in a ceremony performed at
Withee. Since that time they had made their home in Owen and for many years she
was an employee of the Master Package Corp.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church in this city.
In addition to her husband, survivors include three sons, Kenneth, Colby;
Jerome, Waukegan, Ill.; and Scott, at home; three daughters, Mrs. William (Joan)
Rau, Dorchester; Mrs. Thomas (Eunice) Felka, and Mrs. Jerry (Elaine) Fischer,
Milwaukee; two sisters, Mrs. Ed (Laura) Makovec, and Mrs. Frank (Gladys) Ward,
Milwaukee; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.
