Berry, Warner F. (18 OCT 1909 – 5 FEB 1966)
Warner F. Berry, 56, longtime member of the Loyal High School faculty, and also
district superintendent prior to his retirement, died Saturday at 11 a.m. in the
Clark County Hospital in Owen (Clark Co., Wis.).
He completed 35 years of service to the school system by the time he retired two
years ago because of failing health.
Born Oct. 18, 1909, in Abbotsford, Mr. Berry received his bachelor’s degree from
the University of Wisconsin extension at Stevens Point and his master’s degree
in education from the University of Wisconsin Madison.
He joined the Loyal faculty in 1929 and taught until 1947 when he was named
principal. He was elevated to the office of superintendent several years before
his retirement.
Surviving are his wife, the former Marcella Thums, whom he married in 1934 in
Austin, Minn.; one daughter, Anna, at home; one son, William, a student at
Stevens Point, and three sisters.
