Bjorn, Jennie S. (5 MAY 1926 – 10 FEB 1966)

At two o’clock yesterday afternoon funeral services for Miss Jennie Bjorn, 39, were conducted from the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home. Rev. Beryl Knudsen, pastor of Nazareth Lutheran Church, Withee, officiated, with interment being made at Riverside Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were Dan Fredericks, Ralph Woik, Herb Thess, Russell Phillips, Lester Kallberg and Cornelius Driscoll. In charge of the floral offerings were Mrs. Bud Kile, Mrs. Claude Wilson, Mrs. Newell Wilson, and Anna Ristola.

Jennie Sophia Bjorn died at her home in Chicago on Feb. 10, 1966 of a cerebral hemorrhage. She had made her home in Chicago since completing her education here, where she enrolled in the Chicago Business Institute, and since her graduation had held a responsible position with Hayden & Stone Brokerage for the past 18 years.

Born May 5, 1926 at Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bjorn, who preceded her in death. Her passing is mourned by three sisters, Mrs. Elsie Mannisto, Marengo; Mrs. Don (Elvira) Fredbeck, Waukegan, Ill.; Mrs. Joe (Rachel) Wenta, St. Joseph, Ill.; six brothers, Enio, Zion, Ill.; Elmer, Tucson, Ariz.; Edwin, Ironwood, Mich.; Eugene, Rockford, Ill.; and Ensio and Edward, Owen, and 15 nieces and nephews.
