Koltis, Patricia Mae (4 JUN 1932 – 2 MAY 2015)

Patricia M. Koltis, 82, Thorp, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2015, at Our Lady of Victory Hospital in Stanley. Funeral services will be held at noon, on Thursday, May 7, at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church in Thorp. Rev. Janusz Kowalski will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Bernard’s Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Nathan Koltis, Ryan McQuillan, Jeff Hull, Don Danielewicz, Ron Haas and Tom Smasal. Visitation will be held at Thorp Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m., on Wednesday, May 6, and again at church, on Thursday, from 11 a.m. until time of service.

Patricia Mae Haas was born on June 4, 1932, in Thorp, to Joseph and Anna (nee Banderob) Haas. She was raised on the family farm and received her education at area schools, graduating from Thorp High School in 1950. After high school, Pat worked at the Big 4 Cannery and Blue Moon Cheese Factory in Thorp. She married Adolph L. Koltis on Oct. 20, 1956. In addition to being a homemaker and raising her family, Pat worked at Reit’s Floral, Mary’s Floral and Flowers by Lana for many years. In her spare time, Pat enjoyed cake decorating, crocheting, crossword puzzles, playing cards, and being with her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Bernard-St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church and its PCCW, the Thorp American Legion Auxiliary, the city of Thorp Library Board for 11 years, and the Busy Dozen Homemakers.

She is survived by two sons, Mark (Sally) Koltis, Thorp, and Scott (Marilyn) Koltis, Thorp; five grandchildren, Jennifer Koltis, Sarah (Ryan) McQuillan, Nathan Koltis, Hannah Koltis and Katie Koltis; one great-grandson, Grant McQuillan; one brother, Jim (Tommye) Haas, Burlington; two sisters, Marian (Ed) Hull, Thorp, and Ethel (Jim) Gresner, Chippewa Falls; one sister-in-law, Inez Haas, Romeoville, Ill.; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Adolph, on April 15, 2010; four sisters, Vilus Hanson, Ruth Dupy, Alice Haas and Joyce Haas; and two brothers, Dean Haas and Melburn Haas.
